I’m trying to provide an image to show a suggestion i have for a website. it’s a novel writing website and my idea is to create a widget type tool that will allow writers to track their character arcs as they write their story. A visual Character Arc Map that tracks emotional, psychological, or status-based changes across scenes and chapters. Color-coded mood/trait markers with tension arcs over time (e.g., confidence, trust, fear). my idea is to have it not so much a graph like you would see a sales projection, but something of a widget or bar that would fit on a work page with the writing/pages of writing that the writer is working on. like a visual bar broken up by chapters and scenes on the bottom. it would also need to note a starting point, and an ending with a line that goes from bottom left to the top right bisecting the "graph", the progression line (whatever chapter or scene you're on) would ideally like to stay on the line so that it can travel nicely from start (bottom left) to finish (top right) thus completing the character change, or character arc. if the writer is not showing enough change chapter by chapter or scene by scene for the character, the line would be flat towards the bottom and fall far below the bisecting "ideal" line. if the change happens too fast, the tracker would jump up and then have to flat-line for the rest of the story. does that make sense? can we create an image that represents this?
