How to Sketch Cassiopeia Draw the Horizon Line At the bottom of your page, draw a straight line all the way across. Label it “Horizon.” Mark a Compass Direction Since Cassiopeia is north of us, write “N” (North) centered above the horizon line. Optional: you can add E (East) to the right and W (West) to the left if your teacher wants multiple compass points. Plot the Constellation Cassiopeia looks like a stretched “W” or “M” shape made of five bright stars. Place 5 dots above your horizon line, a little higher up on the page (about 1/3 from the top). Connect the dots with faint lines to form the “W.” eep Orientation Correct Make sure the “W” shape is right side up (open part facing upward) if you’re sketching how it looks this week in the evening. Don’t flip the page — your teacher wants it upright. Final Touches Shade lightly below the horizon line so it’s clear what part is the ground. You can label a couple of the stars (like Schedar or Caph) if you want extra detail. See more
