Straw is the world's largest-scale industrial by-product. The agricultural system produces 4.11 billion metric tons of straw annually, sequestering 6.58 billion metric tons of CO₂. Compared to other industrial carbon sequestration methods, straw-based carbon fixation operates on a massive scale with low costs and minimal ecological impact. Currently, there is no effective industrial utilization solution for straw. The enormous amount of carbon captured can only be retained for 3 to 12 months before being degraded and released back into the atmosphere. See more
