Imagine your own complex scene or drawing using Illustrator: Create a canvas that is 11 inches wide x 8.5 inches tall. Use at least 40 geometric shapes in your scene. (Use at least five different shapes. Lines also count as shapes.) NOTE: Don’t do something lame like putting 30 stars in the sky to get your shape count up. Level of difficulty is part of the grade. Include both auto-shapes (rectangle tool, polygon tool, etc) and organically drawn shapes (bush tools, pencil tool, etc) in your scene. (If you are not a good sketch artist I would do mostly auto-shapes. Only one hand drawn shape is technically needed.) Ask for a drawing tablet if you want one. Use different fills and strokes. Your scene should have a background and tell a story and if Mr. Schwent asks you about it, you should be able to explain it to him. (Feel free to hand-sketch your scene before you start working in the digital space.) This is a final test of sorts, giving you the opportunity to show what you have learned about using Adobe Illustrator. Make it count. See more
