Create a city plan design with the following prompt: The site i’m imagining is a city block mixed-use development that includes both Commercial and residential uses. This plot of land is roughly 0.5 square miles, but it is also relatively dense, close to the downtown core of this imaginary city. One end of the area is bordered by a multi-lane highway, the other by a large park. Buildings in this area are typically around 3-6 stories tall, but there a couple of larger buildings that could be considered ‘skyscrapers.’ About 60 years ago this area was zoned for industrial purposes, leaving behind large city blocks in a grid system. Roughly 10 years ago the zoning was changed to mixed-use commercial and dense residential, with the size of the blocks and street layout remaining unchanged. Some of the industrial infrastructure remains, being repurposed for other uses. Some have become loft apartments, while others have become white-collar offices or food halls. There are a few blocks that have been used just for housing, with the old factories and storage facilities having been knocked down to build the new modern-style, town homes, condos, and apartments, densely packed with no yards. The housing only blocks are rare, though. Most blocks are mixed-use, with businesses on the ground floor and apartments/condos/offices on the upper floors.
