Step 2: Coat of Arms Representing the Student and a Character from the Novel Objective: Create a personalized coat of arms that represents both yourself and the character chosen above. This will allow you to explore symbolism and develop a deeper understanding of both your own identity and the literary character. PLEASE NOTE: You must ALSO show and explain this coat of arms in your presentation. Design Overview Your coat of arms will be divided into two halves. One half will represent you, and the other half will represent a character from a novel. You will use symbols, colors, and pictures to express qualities, values, and traits associated with both yourself and the character. Materials Needed A sheet of paper (or digital tool if creating online) Colored pencils, markers, or digital design tools Ruler (if needed) Pen or pencil Coat of Arms Structure A traditional coat of arms is divided into sections that represent different aspects of a person's life or identity. For this assignment, we will use a two-section format to represent yourself and a character. The sections should be clear but integrated into one unified design.
