create an image that captures the decisions a young person with a backpack must make using this poem: How do I move? How do I act? What is my state of being? Is it really about all that? Me operating proactively or re-actively can change the whole set. I can be humble and kind and walk in a peaceful state of mind, Or I can be rowdy and messy and create an environment of chaos. In elementary school, I understood: Outstanding, Bravo, Way to go, Great Job, Good Choice, Warning, Time Out, Lose a Privilege, and A New Start to help guide me through. Now, in middle school, I hear that being resilient, responsible, and respectful is the way to go. Do I let those things live, dwell, and take over me? Humans, animals, organisms, and artificial things all can show some form of this—socially and organizationally. You might be wondering what I am talking about, what is with all the questions and words. I’m talking about things we see every day, things we don’t think about— something that shows what we really mean and how we really feel. Am I overpowering, neutral, weak, afraid, happy, sad, angry, or mad? All of this shows in my B-E-H-A-V-I-O-R! Behavior! We must keep this in check and think about it, even when we don’t want to and as we grow. The way I choose to think about it is: B – Being E – Ever H – Honest A – Awesome V – Vigilant – Inclusive O – Optimistic R – Rapport Being Ever Honest, Awesome, Vigilant, Inclusive, and Optimistic in my Rapport.
