As chimney smoke hung high in the air , soldiers practiced their march. The stench of sweaty army boots could be smelt whilst the scent of rationed food lingered. The sound of kids running around the green outside the church ringed around peoples ears. All of a sudden, an air raid siren went off. "Uhhh I didn't think we'd be bombed here," muttered Timmy , a very scared 7year old, as he quickly started panicking .
