PASSENGER DEPARTURES 1. Purpose This procedure is governed by the Operations Landside General Policy and outlines the comprehensive process to be followed for all passengers departing from Terminal 4 at JFK International Airport. 2. Scope This procedure applies to the JFKIAT Operations Department and is carried out in coordination with Asset Management, Security, IT and Digital departments, and all tenant airlines operating departing flights out of Terminal 4. 3. Definitions • JFK International Air Terminal LLC (JFKIAT): The operator of Terminal 4, a subsidiary of the Schiphol Group. • TSA (Transportation Security Administration): Federal agency responsible for passenger and baggage screening. ⸻ 4. Procedure 1. Departure Roadway Frontage a. There is one primary roadway servicing the Terminal 4 departure frontage with five designated entry doors ( A through F) into the Departures Head House. b. Overhead signage with large illuminated letters (A–F) above each entryway into the terminal indicates airline assignments for check-in and helps guide passenger flow. c. Airline-specific signage is installed at designated sign banks outside each entry door, updated based on flight schedules. d. The overall traffic management of the departures roadway is the responsibility of the JFKIAT Traffic/Pedestrian subcontractor. e.
