Design a drawing based on the following: What are teacher perceptions of engagement strategies for primary school students with ADHD and reading difficulties? The study will use a mixed methods case study design across three primary schools, with approximately five teachers from each school participating. It will begin with qualitative, semi-structured interviews to explore teachers’ experiences and perspectives on supporting students with diagnosed ADHD and reading difficulties. Thematic analysis of the interview data will identify key concepts and language, which will then inform the design of a survey. The survey will then be distributed to a broader group of teachers to quantitatively examine how common and varied these themes are. Starting with interviews ensures the survey reflects real classroom experiences, offering a richer understanding of how teachers perceive and apply engagement strategies in reading instruction for this student group.
