LEARNING GOALS: Language: I am learning to communicate my ideas clearly and persuasively through written and oral language that shares a message or point of view. I am learning to use words, tone, and body language effectively when presenting to an audience. I am learning to organize my ideas and supporting details so my message is clear and engaging. Visual Arts: (This information will be shared with your Art teacher.) I am learning to use elements and principles of design — such as line, shape, contrast, and emphasis — to create a visual artwork that expresses an idea or message. I am learning to use creative design techniques (digital/by hand) to communicate a theme or perspective effectively. I am learning to use a paper-cutout style to simplify and strengthen the message I want to share. SUCCESS CRITERIA: Language (Writing & Oral Communication): I can identify a bias or stereotype and explain why it is important to challenge it. I can create a short, clear, and meaningful message that helps others “unlearn” a stereotype. I can use appropriate vocabulary, tone, and sentence structure when sharing my message. I can speak clearly and confidently, making eye contact and using an appropriate pace and tone. Visual Arts: I can use shapes, color, and layering to create a design that supports my message. I can show creativity and thought in how I arrange my visual elements. I can create a neat, organized, and visually appealing poster that shows care and effort. PERIOD See more
