Describe My community is known as the Green Community found in Fresno, California. Located on the west coast of North America. This community practices reducing pollution by having no gas vehicles. The types of transportation that are in the community are electrical. For example, electric stoves, bikes, cars, and trucks. People also tend to travel by foot. In order to bake or reheat you will have to use electrical appliances; for example, an electrical stove, oven, or a microwave. The Green Community doesn't allow burning fossil fuels anymore, so fires aren’t allowed either. Unfortunately there are some gas powered stoves which are acceptable as long as they have been bought before implementing the mitigation practice of the use of only electrical appliances. Solar power is the number one way we are able to repower electrical appliances and transportation vehicles. Energy provided from the sun is helpful because it can be turned into electricity with no need of using fossil fuels, reducing pollution. Another thing is that solar panels don’t create harmful greenhouse gas emissions. The carbon footprint of solar panels is small because they last longer than 25 years, and their material can be recycled. In my community there is a river named Manis RIver . Since it’s not always sunny, the river produces hydroelectricity. The running water turns a turbine, which powers the generator.
