Concept A small, elegant plant-like device that always looks like it’s blooming, but the bloom changes subtly over time based on human attention or interaction. It can be placed on a desk, windowsill, or as home decor. Tech seems to care and nurture you, but it only “blooms” fully when humans engage (water it, rotate it, or touch certain parts). Time Element The bloom evolves gradually over minutes or hours, giving a perception of time passing. Subtle changes encourage humans to notice patience and small moments, instead of rushing. Interaction can speed up, slow down, or reveal hidden parts of the bloom, emphasizing co-dependent time. Interaction / Human-Tech Role Human provides care: tilting, touching, or “feeding” the plant with water, light, or small tokens triggers bloom changes. Tech provides feedback: moving petals, glowing colors, or gentle vibrations create a sense of life. Dependence theme: The plant looks alive, but humans are essential for its full expression. Kindness theme: Humans feel rewarded with beauty, soft light, or calming motion. Mechanism & Materials Petals: Soft silicone or layered paper for blooming effect. Movement: Simple gears, sliders, or pulleys to slowly open/close petals. Light feedback: Small LEDs inside petals for glow or color shift. Activation: Human interaction triggers subtle movement; otherwise, plant maintains a semi-static bloom. Size: Desk-sized, self-contained, safe, exhibition-ready. See more
