Ride on the Bike (in the style of Julia Donaldson) The sun shone bright on a fine summerâs day, And a girl on a bike went pedalling away. Her helmet was shiny, her backpack was red, And the wind whooshed around as she sped on ahead. âWheee!â sang the girl, âwhat a wonderful ride! With my bell that goes ding! and my basket beside!â But just as she grinned at the blue of the sky, A hat from her head took off with a fly! Down came a puppy, all spotty and small, Heâd fetched the lost hat as it started to fall. âThank you!â said the girl. âYouâre clever and quick!â âCan I come too?â asked the pup with a lick. âYes!â cried the girl, âjump up if you like!â And the puppy hopped on for a ride on the bike!
