An ancient, heavily damaged bronze shield with a greenish patina of age. The shield is cracked straight down the middle, almost split completely in half, with jagged edges and missing fragments emphasizing centuries of battle and decay. At the center of the shield is a large, deeply embossed symbol of the Dragonlords: a fierce, serpentine dragon tightly coiled around a vertical sword, both styled in intricate Ancient Greek design. Encircling the entire outer rim of this round shield is a continuous bas-relief frieze, like the decorative band of an ancient Greek amphora or temple, depicting detailed scenes of a heroic dragon-mounted warrior. The warrior, clad in classical Greek armor with a Corinthian helmet and flowing cloak, rides a massive, winged dragon that breathes fire and slashes at its enemies. The dynamic poses show the warrior wielding a sword and axe in combat. Facing them in the frieze are colossal cyclopes — each with six muscular arms — surrendering in defeat. The shield’s surface is scarred with deep scratches, heavy dents, and chipped edges, evoking the ruin of countless battles. The dramatic, moody lighting casts stark shadows across the cracks and the relief scenes, highlighting the artifact’s ancient Greek craftsmanship, lost glory, and solemn grandeur. See more
