In May 2023, similar to what was done at Max, the service (and Hulu) began a massive purge of much of its lower-performing original content (including most library content), removing many movies and shows from legal public availability. In the same month, it was announced the service in the US would be merged with Hulu's content, though Hulu would continue to exist as a standalone service as well. That same year, Disney+ announced that it would gradually add a number of restored Classic Disney Shorts in the remaining months of 2023 as part of a restoration project which coincides with the company-wide Disney100 celebration as well as a Cinderella 4K restorationnote on August 27 of that year, as part of World Princess Day. On December of that year, Disney+ began its integration with Hulu with via a beta launch that combined most of the stuff on Hulu to their platform, meaning you can watch kid-friendly stuff like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Bluey, as well as hardcore gore filled shows like Attack on Titan, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Rick and Morty. For reference, Ian Jones-Quarteynote noted this and said it was weird. (Just remember to activate the parental controls.)
