This mixed-media approach lets you combine sculpture (form), drawing (emotion), and symbolism (depth) in one powerful composition. Execution: 1. Base Layer – Charcoal Figures On a large stretched canvas, draw two back-facing figures — you and your twin (from their torso to back of head). Let them fade into each other, as if one merges with the other at the spine. Use soft blending and smudging to create an ethereal, dreamlike feeling — like memory or intuition. 2. Clay Sculpted Spine Sculpt two spines out of clay morning into one as it lowers near the middle of the back— not an anatomical one, but a stylised, organic version. Think twisted, branching out to each back connecting them together, even root-like. Attach this on to their backs to the canvas so it physically connects both figures down only their backs (from neck downwards). Paint or glaze the clay slightly (bone-white with slight veins of pink or purple) to give a surreal, lifelike look. 3. Additional Texture/Layering Stitch threads or embed light fabric between the figures’ shoulders to show veins, nerves, emotional threads. Option: use handwritten text (fragments of shared memories or thoughts) faintly in the background in charcoal or ink. See more
