a 1996 photo of was a large concrete building designed to blend in with its surroundings, a drab gray land that had once been a large town of 35,000 at one point: The town of Alton before it had been burned down by a forest fire. Most of the wreckage had been cleared and the only commercial buildings left were a grocery store, a strip mall, some cheap-looking motels and across from the motels, an Exxon station with a payphone owned by RB and C. The rest of the buildings were duplexes, condos and split-levels. The roof of the grocery store had been caved in and surprisingly, there was still an old sign that had miraculously survived the fire that read: Tuesday's "Bargin" Day, 50% off. ( I spelled that wrong on purpose.) Meanwhile, the headquarters of Reeger looked more well-maintained than the town itself. They set camp in the grocery store. See more
