Gary the Barn Dog and the Woodland Adventure Gary the barn dog was no ordinary pup. With floppy ears, a nose that could sniff out anything, and a tail that wagged like a metronome, he lived for adventure. His best friend, Allen—a curious and fearless 10-year-old with grass-stained jeans and a backpack full of snacks—was always ready to follow wherever Gary led. One sunny morning, with the sky painted a bright blue and the leaves rustling like secrets in the wind, Gary barked twice—their signal for “let’s go!” Allen grabbed his trusty flashlight (just in case) and followed Gary past the barn, across the field, and into the woods.
