18th century. Two elderly men in a rather grand but slightly cramped room. One is an artist, standing at an easel and painting a costume that is somewhat provisionally set up on some kind of simple mannequin. The other man sits slightly behind the artist, leaning forward and has comments on the painting, pointing at it with a cane. The artist has his working robe on him, with some paint stains. The room, which is actually elegant and has several smaller paintings on the walls, is still a bit cluttered with jars, brushes, and small bags here and there. A cup of tea is provisionally placed on a slightly larger jar. The atmosphere is friendly and without pretense. Perhaps the men are colleagues or the other is a good regular customer. The lighting comes solely from natural light through the window. See more
