Sketch a Lightly mark the center of where you want the badge. Use a compass to draw a big circle (about 6–8 inches across). Inside it, draw a second circle about ¼ inch smaller to make a thin ring. Very lightly draw a vertical and horizontal guideline through the center (a plus sign). You’ll erase these later. Place the periodic info At the very top-left inside the circle, write the atomic number: 6. Big in the center, write the symbol: C (make this huge—about half the circle’s height). Under the symbol, write the name: Carbon. Near the bottom inside the circle, write the atomic mass: 12.01 (rounded is fine). Optional extras (small): right side “Group 14”, “Period 2”. Make it neat (lettering tips) Block letters or simple sans-serif look best. Keep “C” thick and bold; the other text medium/small. Lightly sketch letters first; ink only when you like the spacing. Ink the badge Ink the outer circle with a thicker pen line. Ink the inner ring with a slightly thinner line. Ink the numbers/letters. Let the ink dry, then erase all pencil guidelines. Add the cracked effect around the circle Pick 3–5 spots on the edge of the outer circle where you want cracks. From each spot, draw a short jagged line that branches like lightning: one main line plus 1–2 small forks. Vary line weight: start a little thicker at the rim, taper thinner as the crack moves outward. Add tiny chips: draw a small triangle missing from the rim; outline the chip and shade its inner edge slightly to look broken. See more
