Published in 1880, The Brothers Karamazov is Dostoyevsky's final novel. The novel follows the violent Karamazov family: the dissolute father Fyodor Pavlovich and his sons Dmitri (passionate), Ivan (intellectual), Alyosha (spiritual), plus the secretive servant Smerdyakov. Conflicts over money, love (Grushenka and Katerina), and honor culminate in Fyodor's murder. Dmitri is arrested; the trial and its aftermath expose moral ambiguities and personal crises. See more
