Shailaputri Devi is the first form of Mother Durga. Her divine form is worshipped during the first day of Navratri. She is the daughter of the Himalayan King, Himavat. She is wearing all-white clothes, holding a trident(a weapon), a lotus, and sitting on a beautiful bull, named Nandi. It is said that she blesses the one who worships her with spiritual potency.
