The contemporary issue I chose was water contamination and clean water. My position on this issue is that it is an issue in several countries. Water contamination has affected many communities over the use of water contamination and not having access to clean water. Water contamination can lead to health issues and diseases, from ingesting harmful bacteria, parasites, and viral diseases. The setting of the art piece would be a regular sized room about 10x10 feet of space. The setting would be in the middle of an art museum, and there will be a water fountain that is life-sized that looks like a fountain that can be drinkable. The medium of the art would be conceptual art and performance art. The description behind the art of what would be happening is there is a drinking water fountain that is realistic and life sized and there would be a sign that hangs above the water sign that says, “water contamination is among you.” Every time the button gets pressed for the fountain, there will be an automated voice that says, “The water is clean.” In the art, there are three different water bottles that are either bacterial, viral, or parasitic. The water bottles behind it will mean that water contamination can see as that water contamination gives the effect that the water is clean but if you look closer it is contaminated water and not clean.
