Alongside the idealistic and mighty Brutus, and a few other senators, he is able to hatch a plan to kill Julius Caesar. MANIPULATION Cassius is portrayed to be a highly manipulative fellow. Had his manipulations not succeeded, there was no way that Julius Caesar would have been killed. All eyes seemed to be on Brutus when Caesar was murdered. What the Romans did not know was that Cassius had tricked Brutus into thinking that Caesar was a tyrant. By talking about the freedom and rights of Romans, Cassius had poisoned Brutus’ heart against Caesar. Then, again in Act 1 Scene 3 (Lines 148- 152) we see that Cassius manipulates Brutus by planting false evidence in his sight.
