Had his manipulations not succeeded, there was no way that Julius Caesar would have been killed. All eyes seemed to be on Brutus when Caesar was murdered. What the Romans did not know was that Cassius had tricked Brutus into thinking that Caesar was a tyrant. By talking about the freedom and rights of Romans, Cassius had poisoned Brutus’ heart against Caesar. Then, again in Act 1 Scene 3 (Lines 148- 152) we see that Cassius manipulates Brutus by planting false evidence in his sight. He instructs Cinna, “Be you content, Good Cinna, take this paper, And look you lay it in the praetor’s chair. Where Brutus may but find it. And throw this In at his (Brutus) window.
