Ping is led by the guards into a large, impressive entrance hall filled with beautifully carved tables, each holding a potted plant. Unlike the messy hall at Huangling, everything here is clean and polished—the tables shine, the lanterns are spotless, and the stone floor is perfectly clean. The guards guide her along a corridor to a stunning room. Inside, a bed is covered with delicate silk hangings, and the walls are decorated with paintings of tall, cloud-covered mountains. The windows are made of latticed wood in the shape of houses, offering amazing views of the Yellow River winding below.
