Students worked in groups to drag a virtual "sun energy block" onto the grass, creating plants (producers). The energy was then "fed" to virtual rabbits (primary consumers), which then passed it on to foxes (secondary consumers). With each transfer of energy, the block's volume decreased by 90%, making the "tenths law" of the energy pyramid visible to the naked eye. See more
