A 911 memorial not just be a plaza, but a whole memorial park, stretching blocks. Trees, art installations, quiet pathways, and spaces to reflect on more. The idea is to add towering sculptural forms that represent the towers, but abstract, like ghost towers made of light beams or shimmering metal. So they reach high into the sky again but differently, something that is lit up all days of the year instead of just on September 11th, as they light the beams up on the specific day. The park could add a nightly addition where the whole park would glow in soft lights all over the paths, and the light beams shooting upward as a constant reminder of the light after the darkness.
