After being abandoned, Gulliver meets two intelligent horses who act calmly and rationally. They take him to their home, where he discovers that in this land, horses — called Houyhnhnms — are the wise beings, and creatures like humans — Yahoos — are wild and dirty. Gulliver is shocked by the resemblance between him and the Yahoos. He tries to explain he’s different, but it’s hard because the Houyhnhnms don’t understand clothing, lies, or boats.
