An landscape oriented oil painting with distinct brushstrokes, somewhat simplified and relatively spontaneous craftsmanship. A vast horizon line with the sea meeting the sky. Beautiful mild greyish nuances of lite yellow clouds with orange and reddish hues against a mellow blue sky that subtly shifts toward dull turquoise blue. The clouds make the sky more interesting but hardly dominate it. The sky is somewhat reflected in the water. The land surface reaches just under half the height of the image and consists of a rather barren and dry grassy area, where the grass varies in dull greyish yellow, golden brown, and reddish-yellow shades. Only in patches of taller grass do variations in different green or greenish-gray shades remain. Small and medium-sized limestone rocks lie in random formations scattered across the various grassy areas and tufts. The dry, slightly gray-yellow-brown landmass contrasts interestingly with the water and the sky's fresh but subdued blue and blue-green tones. See more
