Three AMSCO books sit side by side, leaning against each other for the support they once provided to me. Marked chapters with colored sticky notes peaking out of the top of the books waiting to be opened there once again. Ripped covers, highlighter smears, coffee stains, tear drops as I gently flip through them. At some point they were used everyday, sitting pretty open on my desk with highlighters and color pens with a white notebook laying gently next to it. Each of these books represents a different period of time in my life freshman year, sophomore year, and junior year. AP Government started the same as all of them but by May will end up like the rest tired, scribbled with thoughts, and post-it notes marking unread chapters. See more
